You Are a Child of the Universe

It helps me when I remember that I am made of stardust. I am a part of a greater universe––more magnificent and profound than I can understand or even imagine.

I am no less than the trees and the stars.

So why then, am I so quick to see my faults and my flaws?

As a double Virgo, I know I can see what’s wrong far easier than I can see what’s right. But I’m not alone. For many of us, far too often, the voice of our Inner Critic is quick to point out where we fall short, screw up, or drop the ball.

It’s a sneaky voice, as its droning drops off into the background of our awareness, programming its illusionary messages deep into our subconscious. Subtly, it keeps us down and holds us back.

That is, until we recognize what’s happening, look a little closer, and take a stand for ourselves.

With gentleness and compassionate curiosity, we begin to deconstruct the negative programming. We see the falsehoods and the misconceptions, and say, “Wait a minute, that’s not true.” We open to a bigger picture and a greater truth. We connect with the higher voice of our inner truth and begin to remember.

I AM A CHILD OF THE UNIVERSE. NO LESS THAN THE TREES AND THE STARS. I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE.
